EVERY NUMBER COUNTS - TODAY = THE NUMBER 5
On the count of 5 = 5 is a number that crops up in music regularly. Musical manuscript is written on a stave that consists out of 5 lines; a perfect fifth is the interval between notes that provide the most pleasing sounding harmony and it is the interval used to tune the strings of a violin = G-D-A-E-A.
ED SULLIVAN SINGERS
The man himself, Ed Sullivan, has "done it all" as far as radio, TV and showbusiness are concerned (his biography reads like an exciting novel). The recording of this record must have been the "gap" in his "CV" and so, .... this probably is the only album that "The Ed Sullivan Singers" ever recorded.
GOING OUT OF MY HEAD
Composer Teddy Randazzo teamed up with famous orchestrator and arranger Don Costa and this "Goin' out of my head" is one of their best known (and most successful ) works.

Greatt background orchestration here with a surprising but pleasing arrangement of the voices male vs female. Mr Costa clearly had the steering wheel firmly in his hands when arranging this great song, a song that finally ended up as a "standard" (or "evergreen" as they say in the UK). Numerous vocalists recorded their own version of the song. This close harmony presentation ranks amongst the best ever released.
