Happy Wednesday!
Perhaps I was more thinking a Djinni or Genie than a Djinn when writing this one but who knows...Looking into a lot of these creatures there are many varying myths and descriptions that are contradictory or completely different things with the same name. It is interesting how myths can mutate and change with each passing story they're put in.
The opening of the piece ominously presents the Djinn theme. There is an exposition that displays the world as is before anything changes. Measure 16 is the first instance of the Djinn granting a wish that leads to a key change. After that there is another instance of the Djinn theme where he's granting a second wish. The second wish sends everything off the rails. The final wish is to put everything back to normal. The piece ends ominously with the Djinn theme once again. I was mainly going for a classic "be careful what you wish for" narrative.
