The disconnect is real. Seeing the victims is sometimes enough for compassionate people. There are so many lies breadcrumbed that make us believe it’s acceptable or prevent us from thinking about the victims at all. You know it because I said the word victim and people scoffed, yeah the animals are victims. They’re sentient, too. Yeah, people also deny that one. They believe they need their flesh to be healthy or even survive, they don’t. They pretend it’s some sort of circle of life to breed animals into existence and transport them to a slaughterhouse. They suddenly forget who they are and have the morality of lions, which they don’t apply to any other behaviour. The nonsense goes deep, and it’s other animals who pay the price of people falling for it.
