What happens when you take a group of talented drummers, cinematographers and audio engineers into one of Vancouver's most famous studios? That is what came to be known as The December Project. Myself, Pat Steward, Kurt Dahle and Cary Dykhuizen along with Howard Redekop (Engineer) and friends coming together with the simple idea of recording some really great drums tracks using some Dunnett Classic and George Way drums.
Although its not completely ready, its close enough for Rock N' Roll and I've waited nearly 2 years to share this with you. I'm tracking to Suzie Vinnick's acoustic tune "Sometimes I think I can Fly". (Available on itunes!). The drums are all stainless - 14 x 28, 8 x 13, 16 x 18 and 18 x 18. The snare is a Classic Magnesium. The cymbals are all by Paiste and the heads are Remo - Smooth white Emperor on top, Ambassador on the bottom. The snare head is a Black Suede Ambassador. There is no damping in any of the drums - none whatsoever. The drum track is up in the mix intentionally. Enjoy!
