It’s a chaotic, action-packed day at Sheraton Park Farms! We start out in the main garden checking on our late-summer progress—tying up sprawling tomato vines, picking fresh produce, and getting some routine weeding out of the way.
Next, we head over to the sweet corn patch for a massive harvest. We load up the baskets and head into the shop to begin shucking and prepping the ears for long-term freezer storage—a staple food preservation method for our homestead.
Just when we think the day is going smoothly, livestock trouble strikes. Our cattle break through the fence line and invade the chicken run, creating total havoc. They tore up the fencing, broke into the broiler feed, and turned the entire run into a deep mudhole. Watch as Chuck uses fresh corn shuckings as an emergency lure to pull the cows out of the run, sets up a temporary perimeter fence, and gets to work cleaning up the aftermath.
