Hi and welcome to the MPS 801 printer from Commodore. Don't skip the video until you have seen the last part that is a walkthrough of some of the service manual. This printer was the first mainstream printer that was released for the Commodore 64 line of computers, and it’s the one I remember from my childhood. A printer was a real luxury item back in the 80’s and in Norway there only was a small handfull of people I knew that had a disk drive, and printers was even rarer than that. This printer belongs to a fellow retro enthusiast, that asked me to look at in. He had not tested it, and as I understand it was part of a deal. In this part we take a look at the printer, of course we find some faults and have to dig into the service manual.
