There's a psychological bias that shows up constantly in Commander, and most players don't even realize they're doing it.

It's called loss aversion.

The idea is simple:

Losing something feels worse than gaining something feels good.

In Magic, that often means players avoid trading resources.

They won't block because they don't want to lose a creature.

They won't attack because they might lose a creature.

They hold removal because something scarier could appear later.

But Commander rewards efficient losses.

Sometimes the correct play is losing a creature.
Sometimes it's spending removal early.
Sometimes it's accepting a small loss to prevent a much bigger one.

In this video, I break down how loss aversion affects decision-making in Commander and why learning to lose resources intentionally can help you win more games.

What's the resource you hate giving up the most?
