The Prague Spring was a period of liberalisation under Alexander Dubček. These included the end of press censorship and formal recognition of Israel. Nevertheless, Brezhnev and the rest of the Warsaw Pact saw these reforms as threat to socialism and this meant that they invaded with troops later on in 1968.
