The Chicxulub Impact and Dawn of a New Era, presented by Michael T Whalen, Professor of Geology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Geophysical Institute, documents a journey to the Yucatan peninsula and coring and analysis of the Chicxulub impact crater. Chicxulub is the name of the asteroid which impacted Earth between the mesozoic and cenozoic eras, bringing about the extinction of nearly 75% of all life, including dinosaurs, on Earth.
