Dmitry Nicolsky, research associate professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute, presented his research about the impacts of climate warming on ice-rich permafrost of the North Slope of Alaska.
The presentation Friday at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) annual meeting in San Francisco consisted of the first results of projects focused on observing and modeling ground temperature dynamics in the natural and disturbed environments of the small North Slope communities of Point Lay, Wainwright, Utqiaġvik and Deadhorse.
