One of the important parts of a great story comes from the characters. And Breath of the Wild has a huge amount, ranging from main characters to the less important ones.
Though since the story is split up into 2 main "times", the way the game develops its characters is slightly different. For one, the memory system is used to build up the main cast. However since so much time is taken for the former, the characters of the present can at times feel glossed over.
