Today I’m testing one of the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s first metered-electric campsites to see if it actually saves you money!

Today I’m staying at Wyatts Covert near Uxbridge and using it as a base to head into London with Tash. We take on all 528 steps to the top of St Paul’s Cathedral, wander around the city and finally put Bleecker Burgers to the test.

There’s also the small matter of carrying six cans of Pepsi Max up St Paul’s, which obviously counts as extra cardio.

Back at the motorhome, I show you how the campsite’s pay-as-you-use electric system works, what my two nights cost and give you a proper look around. It’s muggy but the weather behaved for London, the trains were easy and the site works well as a base, although I’m not convinced by the price.

Then it’s round the corner to Denham Aerodrome, where helicopters and light aircraft are coming and going right next to the campsite, and I find The Crew Room for a Toastie while watching the planes.
