The popularity of partial reps have been getting some traction lately, forgoing the more commonly recommended training ideology of using the full range of motion (full ROM) of your exercises to elicit the greater muscle growth and strength. But what exactly has changed in recent times to make partial ROM reps a rising contender, especially with so much previous research showcasing otherwise?
Well, in turns out that the debate now hinges on the more nuance approach to partial reps, specifically on which part of the range of motion you're actually performing partials. Now with research starting to narrow the scope on the potentially more effective "long-length" partial reps, we might start seeing a big shift in the meta of resistance training and lifting weights.
