I guess I'll continue the saga of some of the oldest, newest, and coolest trucks currently running in SLO County as that appears to be the trend over the course of my last couple videos. A spur of the moment trip to the small town of Los Osos last Thursday proved to be very successful when I was just looking around the neighborhoods and ran into this truck completely by accident.
It's been a myth for about a year or two now that the San Luis Waste Connections yard actually ran one of these, first introduced at Waste Expo in 2019. Rumor had it that our yard received one not too long after the debut however I never ran into it until now! Paired with a 2019 Autocar ACX/ Bridgeport front loader, this driver does commercial in the area in the early mornings and then hooks up to the U-Can later on to do a residential garbage route. As we suspected, he said they've had this truck for about a year now and it is the only one that's known of in California. In fact, it is pretty much the only automated front loader of any sort in the entire county which also makes this truck unique. All in all I was super surprised to see this and finally film it after months of not knowing whether or not it even existed!
