Tuning: Drop E 8-string (E B E A D G B E)

Working title: "8 string metallica"

Shout-out to @NahTony for coming up with the song title!

This song started about a week or two ago with that little groove riff after the intro. I liked it at first, but I had no clue what to do with it. I just named it "8 string metallica" (because it sounds a bit like a Metallica riff), saved it, and moved on.

Later after some long shifts at work, I was just messing around and came up with the intro riff. Once I heard that, I knew exactly where the song needed to go! Did a bit of copying and pasting to get the song structure, added some fun pitch-shifting, and there ya go. That's a song right there.

In case it's not obvious, Meshuggah is one of the main inspirations for this song. It feels like a combination of "The Hurt That Finds You First", "Humiliative", and "Ivory Tower". I of course enjoy some deathcore though, I'm sure Oceano, Spite, and The Acacia Strain inspired me a bit too!

I tried some new stuff on this mix and I'm really happy with it! I might make a production breakdown video to get a little more in-depth about it.

Also, I totally put Lego Yoda Death Sound in there. It's tuned liked 3 semitones down tho.

DRUMS

EZDrummer for kick, snare, and toms (bright room Prog Metal preset). GGD Modern and Massive for cymbals.

EZDrummer:
- Kick: 16x25" Gretsch
- Snare: 6.5x14" Gretsch Bell Brass
- Toms: Gretsch for toms 1 and 2, Ludwig for toms 3, 4, and 5.

GGD Modern and Massive:
- Whatever the default cymbals are lol

I did quite a bit of dynamic EQ on the drums, it felt more natural than cutting everything with a regular EQ.
