- Rhythm Guitars: Archetype: Nolly
- Dist Ambient Guitars: Archetype: Gojira
- Clean Ambient Guitars: Logic EQ and compression
- Bass: Amplitube 5 + Darkglass Ultra
- Drums: GGD Modern & Massive and Invasion

As with my last Vildhjarta cover, I used Neural DSP's Archetype: Nolly. 3rd amp with 4th cab. I did some fun EQ before the amp, +8.5 dB at 1.5k, +4.5 dB at 4k, and a low-pass at 7.5k. Obviously, this type of EQ might not work for your guitar/pickups, but the main idea stands. Make it twangy, boost some highs (unless your DI is already bright enough).

For drums, I used GGD Modern & Massive. Pearl kick and Ludwig snare. I brought up a lot of low-mids in the snare bottom track and multiband compressed the low-mids pretty heavily too. I didn't brighten the snare up too much, I just used Logic's Exciter plugin a little bit.

Used a lot of Expanders on the kick, snare, and toms to make them a bit punchier, along with some compressors with slow attack and release. I've been liking the way that type of compression sounds on drums atm. It preserves the attack, while giving you some punch.

Bass is tuned a WHOLE OCTAVE below the guitars (drop F)!! So I multiband compressed the heck out of the low-end in the bass to hopefully keep it consistent.

It's also worth noting I did some multiband compression on the master as well. I like how it makes the kick and snare cut through nicely.

I'm such a simp for multiband comp. Fr tho, it's great.

- Lights: idk, some Neewer Bi-color LED panels I got for like $200

I'm continuing the 60 fps experiment and I'm still liking it! I decided to shoot less angles than usual and tried out some new ones too. I still haven't quite figured out an exact formula for these covers, but it's getting better, I think.

I'm a huge Vildhjarta fan and I've been really hyped for the new record that comes out this Friday. I've only covered one of their songs (Eternal Golden Monk) and that was almost a year ago, so it felt like the right time to learn a new one.

Not gonna lie, half the reason I chose this song is because of that wacky breakdown at the end. I love that natural harmonic thing. In general though, I love all the riffs in this song. It was a little scary choosing a 7-minute-long song tho, that made things a little more difficult.

As stated earlier, the tuning I used is Drop F 7-string (F C F A# D# G# C). The 8th string is tuned in unison with the 7th string. I really need to get a 7-string someday lmao.

~ * ~ if you're here, why did you read all that? ~ * ~
