In the sweltering, disease-ridden channels of Blackwater Glade, a primitive race of lizardmen holds a dark secret. Meet the Bakali. They stand up to eight feet tall with spiny, alligator-like leather, surviving in a swamp where the very air reeks of sickness. They have no concept of family. Young Bakali are left in communal nesting grounds to fight each other for food—and must kill a bull alligator solo just to join the tribe. They fight with bone and wood.
