Climbing is very pull-dominant, so a lot of climbers build strong lats and forearms but neglect pushing muscles and shoulder stabilizers. 💪
Over time, this can lead to:
• Shoulders drifting forward
• Increased strain on the front of the shoulder
• Poor shoulder blade control
• Higher risk of overuse injuries
One of our favorite "hacks" for this? The subscapularis self-release (shown in the video!). This helps "reset" the internal rotators that get super tight from all those heavy pulls, allowing your shoulder to sit back where it belongs.
Combine this release with exercises like push-ups, external rotations, and scapular stability work to balance the joint and support better movement.
Don’t let a shoulder tweak keep you off the wall. If your 'pull' is feeling a bit off, head to our website to grab a session and keep your progress on an upward trajectory. 🧗♂️✨
