I made this a little bit ago when I was feeling especially affectionate about this horse.
I'm happy to have the opportunity to watch over him again this weekend and hopefully do a lot of fun things and film them. But now its time for the long sappy paragraph.
I've been wanting to use this song for a long time for one horse or another, but I realized it applied quite well to Black Jack. I sometimes forget that I've been riding him longer than any other horse and how, ultimately, he's always been the best one. I've always had so much faith and trust in this horse and I know whenever I'm on his back he works to take care of me. I remember my previous trainer remarked on how much of an honest horse he is. It's so incredibly evident when you watch him with a rider. I'm grateful everyday that I gave him a chance and let him become a part of my life. Given the opportunity I know we would've gone far together and he would've taken care of me every step of the way. Just wasn't in the cards for us. But I hope that for as long as he's alive I'll be able to come see him and get updates on him and know how he's doing. He makes me so proud and has been there through a lot of major changes in my life.
He's the best horse I've ever known and one of the best I will ever know. He is truly so special, so extraordinary, and I'm so incredibly grateful for him. I love him dearly and always will no matter where life takes me. He's like home, in a way. Forever my constant.
