The Berkeley Kites were an American pop-rock band from the mid-1960s, known for their blend of garage rock, sunshine pop, and psychedelic influences. They gained some regional success in California, particularly with their single "Hang Up City", which exhibited their signature bright melodies and harmonies. Although the band did not achieve widespread recognition, their music serves as a representative sample of the West Coast sound during the 1960s rock scene. The Berkeley Kites' influence can be traced in the stylistic development of several later garage rock and psychedelic bands.
