This is one of those Beatles songs that completely encapsulates the early Beatlemania era for me. Classic Ringo Mersey beat drumming on this one.
The Beatles recorded this song on July 30, 1963 in two sessions. The first session was in the morning where they recorded ten takes. The second session was in the afternoon where they recorded seven more takes. The final product was a combination of takes 17 and 21, put together August 21st.
Drums:
1968 Ludwig Downbeat
14x20, 8x12, 14x14
1962 Ludwig Jazz Festival 5.5x14
Cymbals:
18” A Zildjian Crash 50’s
14” A Zildjian Hi Hats 50’s
20” A Zildjian Ride 50’s
