And so Calderstone Productions, the UK sub of UMG that owns the rights to The Beatles music, is allowing some Beatles music to now be played on YouTube for the time being. Not sure for how long but we are grateful to them for allowing it.

And now we are in the process of looking through our Beatles archive and releasing those uploads that were previously put on hold from years past. This is good news folks. Enjoy!

Official 2009 Stereo Remaster Version: youtube.com/watch?v=irC9M15oUiE

Notice the difference in sound. Quite dramatic in stereo representation between the two! Do you experience the dreaded 'Ear Pull" while listening on the headphones? Which sounds more natural to the ear and which sounds more forced, compressed or 'digitized'? Which version do you prefer?

And finally, if you are fortunate enough to own a vinyl copy of "A Hard Day's Night" album as part of the 2012 Stereo Remaster Box Set release, how does this compare? Those were remastered from a 24-bit, 44kHz Non-limited master, not from an analog source, so my suspicion is you will still hear a bit of compression as you hear in the 2009 version but just not as much. Also, how about the dispersion of the stereo image sound energy throughout and how does it compare to this presentation? Does it feel as natural and is it a relaxed delivery as this one? All of these matter in the end.
Of course, you know which we prefer here at TheVRP! And we happen to think the cutting engineer at Abbey Road back in '64 'nailed it!'. Sixty years of bliss and counting.

"I Should Have Known Better" by The Beatles
Words & Music by - Lennon-McCartney

Lyrics -

+1st Pass - Usually indicates that a lesser audio source(vinyl pressing) was used to create the transfer. Also, very little, if any, audio restoration treatments are applied on a 1st Pass. Therefore, it is highly likely that you will hear various degrees of audio distortion throughout. If and when a better audio source is acquired, a second transfer/restoration project will eventually ensue as part of a 2nd Pass and depending on the results, a full scale audio restoration will usually also accompany the 2nd Pass for much better results.
