This is one of those early Beatles tracks that I don’t think gets the attention that it deserves. Such a great melody and excellent harmonies. Easily one of my favorite earlier Beatles tracks and a great precursor to where things were headed with Rubber Soul.
The drums on this song are kind of difficult to decipher due to them being very quiet in the mix. Even the isolated drum track doesn’t really help to reveal too much. Ringo is playing a shuffle hi hat pattern during the verses. Again, not a tricky pattern but the tempo is what makes it a bit more difficult. I did my best to decipher the rest of the tune. I hear open hi hat going into the choruses then transitioning into the floor tom pattern. Also hearing four on the floor kick drum through this whole section as well as the solo section going into the final chorus.
Anyway, this is just my interpretation. Hope you enjoy!
