Groves High School 9th Grade Excel Elective Leadership Qualities of Battlefield Commanders showcases the good and the bad in military decision-making. Students will write an argumentative final paper on the most important qualities of a commander.
I chose this battle late last night because it occurred in Michigan, I often fish in Lake Erie and use the River Raisin to launch from, and the anniversary of this battle from the War of 1812 just happened.
As the class progresses I usually find students become more confident and they ask more questions and offer more input.
This battle demonstrates commanders making poor decisions that students can use as evidence in their papers. These students are fun to work with. Thank you for watching.
