When @esschicag commissioned me to compose a new piece of music for the Fern Room at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Conservatory, I started to research ferns and came across a fascinating fractal algorithm called the “Barnsley Fern.”

This grew into an entire new custom module that I co-designed with @gastonsounds to use the Barnsley Fern algorithm as control voltage for electronic sound.

I just released a super in-depth behind the scenes video on my YT channel, detailing the entire creative process behind this project - from initial ideation, to building the fern module, to composing and installing the new quadraphonic piece at the conservatory.
