For those who don't have time to watch a three minute video... Green. The answer is green. π
That might sound wild, but yes... all spaces in our new building in Las Vegas have upper intermediate temp release bulbs in the sprinklers. And I've found this to be the case in MANY commercial structures in this city. While it's unlikely that any building could ever reach a temperature of 200Β°F (the release temp of these green bulbs) it is NOT inconceivable that -- were the A/C system to fail during the height of summer -- a building here *might* actually exceed 155Β°F (the release temp of conventional red bulbs) especially up at the ceiling level.
I predict that we are going to see more and more of these sorts of installation choices in cities like Las Vegas, Phoenix, and other areas subject to extreme heat as climate change continues to wreak havoc on our weather patterns. Do your best to stay cool and safe, wherever you live. Hopefully we won't ever wind up seeing sprinkler systems dump water in our homes and offices when they're not actually on fire... fingers crossed!
