Delta has clarified their new policies and put some hard numbers out there to the customers whom they outraged. My take? It's still kind of nonsensical.
I might be misunderstanding, but in my view, if I've paid for a SkyClub membership (and paying could be in dollars or paying could be using earned benefit perks) then that means someone should be allowed to use the SkyClub whenever they are traveling. Upon take-off, layover, and landing... it's the right thing to do.
Telling people "You know that thing you paid for? You can only use it a handful of times" is akin to when MoviePass started telling people that their previously "see all the movies you like" plan was changing to "you can see three movies per month."
So, that's about the size of it. I will miss this airline terribly, but if they insist on repeatedly raising the Qualifying Dollars requirement while also cutting off access to the SkyClubs for those of us who rely on them, that's just silly.
It's a damn shame. But, hey, in better news... how astounding is that Auphonic audio filter when it comes to isolating my speech and cutting out all that background noise from the roadside as well as the runways? 👍😁👍
