In late November 2024, I had a very simple idea. What if there was an online advent calendar that was genuinely easy to share? A short, tidy link. A QR code you could scan. An embed code so it could live on any website. No fuss, no gimmicks. Just doors, and something behind them... So I built it.
In this video, I talk through how the first version worked, why certain features existed, and what I learned by watching real people use it. That includes what went wrong, what had to change, and why some features were removed entirely. As Adventify moved into its second year, I rebuilt parts of the platform to support paid tiers, better analytics, business use cases, and the realities of running something that people actually rely on in December.
