YouTube's new monetization requirements are doubling the watch-hour threshold from 4,000 to 8,000. What does that mean for small BookTube channels?
In this video, I discuss the growing tension between reading for the love of books and chasing YouTube's algorithm.
Are BookTubers going to be increasingly pushed toward clickability, watch hours, tutorials and channel-growth strategies?
Or can small BookTube remain what many of us originally came here for: people who love books talking to other people who love books?
For me, the answer is simple.
I'm choosing reading over chasing.
