Some amazing cars were on display this year. I took this opportunity to fiddle around with my Panasonic DC-S1 and played with frame rate, shutter speed, and aperture.
The end result is middling at best, but it seems that the only true 180 degree shutter setting the S1 offers is 30fps / 1/60th sec. Everything else is a tick off, and the result is what is for me, extremely annoying frame jitter when speeding up or slowing down clips. In this case, I shot the event at 60fps / 1/125th and you can see where any significant movement (such as camera panning) causes jumpy frames when slowed down. Perhaps it's the application of optical flow, or the 23.98fps timeline. I'm not sure. But either way, I'll be shooting 30fps / 1/60 next time.
