This barn was built for Waltham Abbey at a time when Upminster was open countryside.

Now in the London suburbs, the fascinating barn remains relatively unchanged and is one of the oldest thatched buildings in London.

The barn can now be removed from the Heritage at Risk Register, and the public will be welcomed back soon. 👋
