A National Blue Plaque has been given in honour of Mencap's founder, Judy Fryd, at her home in Harpenden.
What began as a small network running out of Judy Fryd's home at 8 Westfield Avenue quickly grew into a national movement.
Today, Mencap remains one of Britainās leading charities for people with a learning disability.
The National Blue Plaque Scheme is supported by Ancestry, Delancey Real Estate, earlscourtdevco and the Britford Bridge Trust.
