Thailand Sets 90-Day Deadline for New School Safety Rules

Thailand is moving to strengthen school security following the deadly shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. Four ministries have been given 90 days to develop nationwide safety standards covering emergency drills, mental health screening, bullying prevention, CCTV and tighter checks for weapons and prohibited items. Authorities are also considering confidential reporting systems and additional training to help teachers identify students who may be at risk. The measures are expected to be submitted to Cabinet once completed.
