Rescue workers in the northern Thai province of Chaing Mai fought rising flood waters and strong currents Saturday, to save elephants in danger of drowning.
The Mae Taeng district is home to several elephant camps which were caught up in the flash flooding that followed heavy seasonal monsoon rain.
Thai media reported that at least two have drowned and as many as 70 elephants were missing though the figures remain unconfirmed. (AP)
