Thahekhü Village-cum-Baptist Church marked its Platinum Jubilee, celebrating 75 years of faith, growth, and divine providence from March 15 to 17, 2026, under the theme “.” The event was held at the new church building, which is currently under construction.
The village was established in March 1951 by pioneers Late Thahekhü and Late Hejeto, along with three founding brothers.
Over the past 75 years, Thahekhü has grown into a thriving community comprising nearly ten colonies and thousands of residents.
The three-day celebration featured the hoisting of the Village, Platinum Jubilee, and Church flags, along with the unveiling of the Jubilee Monolith and the “Founders’ Point” statues.
To commemorate the milestone, new structures were dedicated, including the Platinum Jubilee Park, built in honour of the first pastor, Late Hejeto Ayemi, and a clock installed at the Golden Jubilee Tower.
The programme was led by speakers Rev Dr Phughoto Sema, Executive Secretary of WSBAK; Bokato Sema, Pastor of TVBC; and Rev Dr Yehevi Jimo, Senior Pastor of TVBC.
The celebration highlighted themes of humility, steadfast faith, and renewed hope for future generations.
