Nagaland celebrated as folk artist Guru Veswuzo Phesao returned home to a grand welcome at the Dimapur Airport on August 14.
Guru Phesao was conferred with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar-2024 in the field of Folk and Tribal Music (Nagaland), India's highest national honour in the performing arts, presented by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on August 13, in recognition of his lifelong contribution to preserving and promoting Chakhesang cultural heritage of #Nagaland.
The Western Chakhesang Hoho had organised a community reception at the airport to welcome him home.
