Death Star Interceptor 1985, System 3
A cheeky, semi-licensed Star Wars clone with some addictive gameplay. You pilot a Starfighter 1(an X-Wing in all but name) through three main sections, a launcher sequence with sampled speech, deep space dogfights against swarms of TIE fighters (sorry, “enemy interceptors”), and a final Death Star trench run.The game looks surprisingly ambitious for a 48K Spectrum title, with decent 3D vector-style graphics, smooth animations, and a solid John Williams-style theme at the start.
The force isn't firing on all cylinders but for a Star Wars clone, there's lots of fun to be had here.
