Beverly Hills Cop 1990
An ambitious but clunky tie-in from Tynesoft that tries to capture Axel Foley's action-hero vibe with four different mini-games.
Presentation is spot on and has charm chunky graphics and a decent rendition of the iconic theme tune — but the gameplay is as ropey as a Detroit street deal. Jerky and unresponsive controls, and repetitive action make it feel more like a budget quick cash-in than a polished movie license which feels disjointed due to the six-year gap between film and game.
Fun for a nostalgic five-minute blast but it's no RoboCop, Axel deserves better.
