Four years ago, the community of Uvalde changed forever. Though our nation's headlines may have moved on, children at the center of the Robb Elementary tragedy seek refuge and counseling at the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas.
Every person, regardless of their age, navigates grief differently. After retiring and losing her own husband, Brenda committed to helping the children of Uvalde navigate their immense and complex experiences of grief. She does the remarkable work of reminding these young survivors that their feelings are natural and nothing to be afraid of.
Through musical therapy, creating art with their late friends' favorite colors, and engaging in community events, the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas gives kids the tools they need to continue forward into infectiously successful lives.
