Testing your float switch/sump pump before going on vacation, prior to snow melt, or when there is an incoming storm is a good idea. The process is simple, and all you need is a cloths hanger and knowledge of where your sump pump is located. There are different models of sump pumps, but the one I have utilizes a float switch which is what we're looking at in this video.
