I have another pile of Potential Regrets™ taking up room on my workbench, because the Wheel of Regrets™ has been busy... or something like that. But it would be really nice if I could file these parts away, even if that file is the repair pile. Because sometimes failure is the only option (especially when old tantalum capacitors are involved).
And if the little things aren't enough, I recently bought another one of something, and it arrived as if it was a burrito... the seller literally wrapped cardboard around it and then assumed FedEx would handle it like a major award as seen in a famous Christmas movie. They didn't even put one Fragile sticker on it.
How many items will work? How many temper tantalums will we have? And will the not-burrito-filling item work after being FedEx-handled? You'll have to watch to find out!

If COMPUTER, my MCA Apple ][+ Clone, could sing, it might be singing:
Desolder me down (Repair)

Or something like that...
Theres three rows of bad sockets left in COMPUTER, so the project to replace all the original sockets is in the home stretch. With each new row of sockets, both the appearance of the motherboard and my confidence in a fully-working COMPUTER increases. Maybe tonights the night.
Will I get the remaining sockets replaced tonight? Will I be able to test the board? Will I find a mistake the had way? Youll have to watch to find out!
