One of my co-workers has entrusted me with their first computer: an IBM Portable Personal Computer 5155. I don't get to keep it, but I do get to repair it.
In Part 3 of this livestream series, I will be replacing all of the tantalum capacitors to ensure a long and pleasant computing experience. Please don't get mad if I don't do something with this computer, it isn't mine so I'm going to be a bit more careful with it... that also means I'm going to re-assemble it at the end of the stream so that I don't risk losing parts.
Will I get the old tantalum capacitors out without issue? Will this bring back good memories? Will I miss a tantalum capacitor un til after I re-assemble the 5155? You'll have to watch to find out!

A viewer sent me a goodie box, containing parts that need work. The end goal: an Apple ][+. Lets see whats inside, and what work lies ahead. Well also probably look at COMPUTER, as I know I need to order parts for it as well.
What parts are in the box? How bad could it be? And how many of COMPUTERs chips are now testing bad tonight? Youll have to watch to find out!
