Well, that wasn't exactly how I planned it...

The snow finally arrived, so I decided to take my 3D-printed tracked robot out for a spin. It’s powered by a Raspberry Pi, VW Golf wiper motors, and RTK GPS. It even has a custom web interface, so I can control it from any device through a browser.

If you’re looking to build your own chassis, you can find the files at the Indystry store. It handled the snow without any problems, but things went south when the Raspberry Pi got completely buried in the snow. I totally missed the part where I should’ve waterproofed the top! Luckily, after a good dry-out, the Pi is back in action.
