The Eldon Collect-a-car Raceway was put out during the '60s slot car craze as a rival to Matchbox's Motorway system. Both were designed to allow Tootsietoy, Hot Wheels and 'Matchbox-like' cars to be raced around a track like the electric slot cars.
Whereas Matchbox used a long spring for their system's 'driver', Eldon used a 'beaded' Nylon string. Like Matchbox, Eldon required that a pin be taped to the bottom of whatever cars you wanted to race.
The set I obtained needed rebuilding of one of the motors and of the electrical connection. Only one of the controllers work so I'd only strung one of the tracks for this test run. The included cars were in poor shape so I used one of my own...
