Pumpkin Moon is a new event in the Halloween patch. The event will be availible after Halloween, even though you can't get the vanity items them. The event is hard - maybe a bit to hard - as you want to use self heal weapons/gear so that you can stay alive. I tried it in low tier items, and you can basically do a few waves but you won't get very far as the bosses are quite hard.
I did however try to reach wave 15. I did 14 with melee, but decided to go magic and that did the trick.
