This is a more personal talk in which I revisit the topic of a popular video I produced a little over 10 years ago, in which I answered a friend's question (which others had also asked): if you could only bring 10 philosophical texts to a desert island, which would be the books you would bring? I was asked recently whether I would bring the same texts along with me or whether I would choose differently.

Having thought it over, I would include three works from my list from 10 years ago
Thomas Aquinas' Summa Theologiae - amzn.to/2tq9ASu
Rene Descartes' Meditations - amzn.to/2KjB1qs
Blaise Pascal's Pensees - amzn.to/2K3RTCC
The other seven I would bring are:
Cicero's On The Ends - amzn.to/3yRrUZ5
Seneca's Letters on Ethics - amzn.to/4elw6k7
Augustine of Hippo's Confessions - amzn.to/4b2wCkj
Anselm of Canterbury's Prayers and Meditations - amzn.to/4aYpfuc
Miguel de Montaigne's Essays - amzn.to/3VChIwD
Immanuel Kant, Critique of Judgement - amzn.to/4c07ITM
Chaim Perelman and Lucie Olbrechts-Tyteca's The New Rhetoric - amzn.to/3VFC2gL
So, what would your list be?
