Technology, as birthed by humans, will have the power to lift us out of our current monetary paradigm. It evolves at an exponential rate, rendering other slow-moving institutions devoid of their previous power.
The only question is, can a world guided by science and technology be a moral one?
This is my solemn expression of hope. We have created the first artificial life, we are colliding particles together to recreate the conditions of the big bang, we are developing the tools of nano technology and artificial intelligence, and military applications of the most advanced forms of science. And yet, we are actually headed towards destruction as a species. We need to take it back, for ourselves. We need to move beyond oil, or the crash will break down societal infrastructure and cull much of the population.
I do not want the species to return to a pre-industrial feudal state, toiling in the mud, bartering with seeds and living lives that are nasty, brutish and short. That would be a profoundly sad thing.

Think about you, your neighbors, your kids and grandkids. Because if we don't move ahead, we will suffer immensely.
