Teacher shortages have intensified post-pandemic, expanding beyond traditionally "hard-to-staff" schools. This presentation draws on Australian Research Council studies to explore perspectives from principals, teachers, unions, and educators on why the crisis is deepening, and what policy reforms are needed. Four key themes reveal how the profession is evolving and how we might move forward. This talk was organised by the Teacher Education and Development Group, School of Education, Trinity College Dublin.
