AI systems are making high-stakes decisions impacting health, justice and
welfare across Europe. Many are unaudited.

Dr Abeba Birhane, Computer Science and Statistics is Principal Investigator at the Trinity
College Dublin AI Accountability Lab (AIAL). The AIAL studies AI technologies and their
downstream societal impact with the aim of fostering a greater ecology of AI accountability.
