The A presses are:
#1: Sideflip up the bubble-spawning walls
#2: Wallkick up those walls
#3: Backflip up from the first platform of the 3rd section
This is on second channel because it's practically a dupe of GS3 but with a shorter ending so didn't want to "spam" up main channel. Also want to get some use out of this one, lol.

Despite the lag from an extra crystal break on the world map, it takes the same time to do Hightail Falls before Boulder Bowl than to do Boulder Bowl before Hightail Falls.

Green Star 3 - 57.23 IGT - 27:34.13 real-time split (1:53.28 segment)
Green Star 2 - 57.96 IGT - 29:15.45 real-time split (1:41.42 segment)
The key difference from cutscene skips is the Paragoomba. It doesnt get to the good bouncing spot on the right, so its faster to 2P freeze it on the left and go that side instead.
For the ending, low rapid flutters are used to keep at higher flutter speed. Jumping off the side of the wall while facing upwards gets a similar amount of height as going straight up off the top, while being able to jump earlier.
Green Star 1 - 30.73 IGT - 30:29.55 real-time split (1:14.10 segment)
As mentioned above, jumping off the side upwards is similar to jumping off the top, but it happens earlier. However, in this case, it didnt actually save time because it was so close to the top. It didnt lose time either.
Dismounting into the star is 2 frames faster.

It is a few frames faster to do a cloud jump from the grate and then a quick and high cloud jump in mid-air, rather than boosting from the grate floors bounce and doing a cloud jump on top of another cloud in mid-air (not enough momentum to do a high cloud jump from a single cloud).
I didnt realise frame-perfect ground pounds didnt form clouds but that would make sense as those ground pounds arent counted as proper spins (they dont cause flip-panels to flip).
An instant long jump on the volcano would have gone over the star, so walking for a bit and then long jumping was faster, even faster than a single jump carrying some of the long jump speed.")

did this ages ago (late 2019) but only showed it off as an mp4 embed in tas server.
improved a frame from that old version by 2P jumping into the star.
Attempted earlier shots, particularly using 2P IR instead of 1P as it comes from the left of the screen, but nothing worked out. Im confident it will work but couldnt be bothered to keep testing. Xanders gonna smash this TAS up when he gets there.
Interestingly I couldnt save a frame on textbox by turning the camera just before talking. Perhaps you could save something with a different talking position, but you need to make sure its close enough to the star for an instant 2P jump at the end.")

the one on main channel was mainly a hey i did this cool thing so now this one is the cool thing done a bit better. but this is still very much suboptimal and acts as a blueprint for future TASes.
things to improve:
-Single jump on the second stone platform on first planet to land on sand earlier and not have to pull back on a long jump later on.
-Experiment with momentum off the moving blocks, as well as more edge long jumps on the sand currents
-Learn the exact point at which the Romps start rolling instead of just when the camera tilts up
-Instantly jumping after the first ground pound on the slide which I didnt do for some reason lol")

IGT could be improved by delaying cutscene skips to optimise the fireball cycles.
This TAS was made for the comparison of fast CS skip vs. full cutscenes between both GS1 and GS2 to figure out which is faster to do first in a Green Stars run. Due to fireball cycles being slightly better (4 frames) without cutscenes, its faster to do GS2 first.
Mega double/triple jumps werent understood at the time; maybe there could be an improvement right at the start with this tech?")

this includes cutscenes which wouldnt be included in a 120 TAS assuming routing changes arent made (RTA does Secret before 3 to have two shots at the note challenge).
Without cutscenes, this would be a 1:15.xx.
This branched off the Dusty Dune 3 TAS until landing on the rim of the Bullet Bill planet.
The checkpoint to respawn on the Bullet Bill planet is a short distance away from the rim, so I delayed my long jump and then spun to reach it.
This skip saves ~9.5 seconds over doing the double bounce 2P star chip skip and doing the secret the normal way.")
